TAKING OUR ADVOCACY TO THE TEXAS CAPITOL

Lobby Days registration is now closed.

Schedule & Appointment Information


 We have provided documents such as the capitol map, group assignment, LWVH priorities, and information on how to talk to a legislator. This information will be given to you by LWVH upon arrival tomorrow. 


On the Bus to Austin

While traveling, we will:

  • Review key issues we’ll be discussing with legislators.
  • Provide additional training to help you feel confident in your meetings.
  • Distribute handouts with detailed information on our policy priorities.
  • Have restrooms available on the bus for your convenience.


First Appointments


Begin at 9:00 AM. You will be assigned to a group—please ensure your group is in front of your appointment office at least 5 minutes before your scheduled time. View the attached document to find your group. Please note that last-minute changes may occur.


Lunch


Provided by the League at Pelóns Tex-Mex (802 Red River St, Austin, TX 78701). Transportation will be provided. Lunch is tentatively scheduled between 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM, with some groups eating earlier or later.


Afternoon Appointments


From 1:00 - 2:00 PM, we will finish our remaining meetings.


Dress Code


Please wear business attire for the day. Upon arrival in Austin, we will provide t-shirts that you can change into. Wear comfortable shoes, as there will be a lot of walking at the Capitol.


For Those Already in Austin


Arrive at the Capitol Rotunda by 8:30 AM. Once there, we will distribute t-shirts for you to change into.


Return to Houston

We plan to depart Austin between 3:00 PM and arrive back in Houston between 6:00 - 6:30 PM.

Membership in the League is open to people 16 and older of all gender identities.
