We could never print thousands of Voters Guides or offer them digitally, in multiple languages, without the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our donors. You can imagine our joy, then, when we received a sizeable donation in the mail from Bert & Joan Golding! Bert and Joan were involved with the League for many years, with Bert as Secretary and Joan in many leadership roles. They now live at Eagle’s Trace senior living and continuing care retirement community, where they still hold hands and reminisce about their lives together. Members of the LWV-Houston Board of Directors, as well as old friends and Rising Stars, visited on November 4 to give them the new Voters Guide and thank them for their incredible generosity as well as their service over the years. It was a wonderful experience, with their daughter, Donna, included. Special thanks to the staff at Eagle’s Trace, who helped coordinate our time with these longtime friends of the League.
